Before I studied game design, I got a bachelor's degree in Foreign Languages at the university of Nantes in 2022. I then took a gap year to work as a language assistant in the UK, and that made me realize how I was on the wrong track. It made me reconsider my life choices, and I eventually reconnected with my lifelong passion: games.
It was almost obvious: since I was young, I always played videogames, of course, but also board games, creating new rules with my brothers when we got bored of the original ones. I was always craving for new stories as well, through books, films, plays, or videogames; and I was keen to invent my own stories as well. That's why game design felt evident: it was a way to merge my two passions into one, and express my creativity with more freedom than any other medium could allow.
Some of my favorites works of fiction :
Videogames: Return of the Obra Dinn, Fable, Tunic, Chants of Sennaar, World of Warcraft
Books: Ewilan's Quest, Hercule Poirot, Arsène Lupin, Donjon
Films: Blade Runner 2049, Volver, The Thing, Knives Out
